Satan's Hollow was the best of the retro heavy metal/doom releases I've heard this year. There was a hell of alot released this year. I wasn't blown away either. The only album I was blown away with this year was From Silence to Somewhere by Wobbler.

I'll definitely listen to the new DP. I haven't listened to anything from them since 'Perfect Strangers'.

Really ? You should at least give The Battle Rages On, Now What? & infinite a listen. All are more or less in the same vein as Classic MK II releases.

I'm not really sure why I haven't listened to any Purple releases from the last 30 years. I did read some reviews on 'Infinite' some time ago but just didn't listen to it. I did download a Mp3 file this morning. I'll get to it this weekend.

Edenbridge-The Great Momentum
Xandria-Theater Of Dimensions
Blondie-Pollinator (I've never owned a Blondie album, but always loved the band. This album was a fun retro adventure)
Eluveitie-Evocation II
Exit Eden-Rhapsodies In Black

2016 was a much better year for my tastes. Hopefully 2018 picks up it's end.

Probably on the weekend will name my top 20-25 albums plus honourable mentions. Need some time to digest some more albums again having just recovered from a perforated ear drum. lol

Edit - Scratch that may make it just before Dec 31 given the new Autopsy EP will be out by then. Need to give that one a good spin when its out.
