Back in the day, everybody released everything... CBS/Epic/Columbia & Sony, WEA (Warner/Electra/Atlantic), some on Atco. These days, it's all Universal all the time (although Roadrunner has been making a name for itself by picking up Ratt, Rush, Dream Theater and, earlier on, Mega Death). Most of my favorite New rock has been coming from Frontiers Records out of Italy (with bands like Mr. Big, Whitesnake, and Night Ranger). I'm also liking prog-metal label Lion Music with bands like Astra and Seventh Wonder.

Who's been pressing, distributing and marketing most of your favorite new albums?

SPV GmbH (also known as Schallplatten Produktion und Vertrieb GmbH).

Probably by far the most new albums/artists I have record for SPV these days.

The aforementioned Frontiers and SPV are two of my favourites, alongside AOR/Metal Heaven. Shrapnel still bang out a few decent albums here and there, too.

I like oldies and re-issues, so I'll go with Rhino, Ace, Edsel, Raven and Time-Life (they've got some pretty nifty collections).

Sorry for going a little off topic, but does anyone remember the records on the back of cereal boxes? :heheh:

Repertoire Records - they have loads of very good remasters/reissues of obscure bands.
Sanctuary Records - huge list of great bands, including Uriah Heep, Venom and Black Sabbath.
Rise Above Records - tons of doom rock/metal.
