This was their fourth album and were an industrious touring band also - supported Wishbone Ash which acts as a serious double whammy!
Stackridge were born out of many bands, Audience, Rare Bird and Fleur Dé Lys.
Tony Aston(Family, Dyke/Ashton etc..) produced it. It sold fairly well due to rumours that Gordon Haskell was to join, but he merely rehearsed with the band, but using one of his songs :
Andy Creswell Davies, and James Warren makes the SG talk here (he later formed The Korgis)..Sax man blows just fine smoking a Marlboro!.. . As a youngster this was the kind of TV I was exposed too(hail The Old Grey Whistle Test!)
An album overshadowed by many in 1974,but deserves a listen today.
Stackridge - No One's More Important Than The Earthworm.
