Blackmore's Advocate
I've gone to a few shows without knowing much or anything about the band or musician? I'll read about a band or artist and take a chance and go see them. Sometimes it's paid off and I got into some new music (mostly with blues artists). Other times I've left the show shaking my head.
Big Head Todd and In Flames are two recent mistakes. The former was laden with too many jangly guitar parts for me and the latter just too thrash metal for my ears.
On the other hand, Les Dudek (best known for his work w/ Steve Miller) was a pleasent surprise. Great blues rock. And Chris Duarte another blues rock guy blew me away as well.
BTW the thread title doesn't correspond with this post. Anyone know how edit that?
