Here's a few more then. I don't want to be accused of not doing my part.

That's my problem too Oblivion! I tend to know most of the older artist but only enough to get their best of collections! Their are exceptions but even with favorites of mine like "The Doors" it seems like I have everything I need with their greatest hits! Maybe I've been spoiled by the compilations! It's obviously easier to get into newer artist through their actual albums because that's how we hear them first!

I've found that nothing compares to the albums, it has so much more to it than compialation, I have all compilations for my cd's but I started buying teh albums for my vynil collection in progress and there is nothing like the full album, even if you think you have enough with the greatest hits go buy the album, there is so much great music you are missing because of charts, now go buy albums

I totally agree :) That's why this topic is gonna hurt my download counter this much...
I liked bruce springsteen, but not to say I loved him... Then I downloaded some of his actual complete albums instead of a best off and damn... Now I love him. (or at least most of his albums)

ha ya, I'm the same way with springsteen, and oh god, I must have downloaded 20 gigs of music the first day I got my new computer(now old computer) by the end of the week I had over 100 gigs filled, thankfully I've weeded that out and have it on cd's by now haha

Rubber Soul
Revolver
The Doors
Are You Experienced
Sgt Pepper
After Bathing At Baxters

I don't think the Rolling Stones really made a great classic album until Beggars Banquet. I like Pet Sounds but is that really rock music?
