Eric Burdon and The Greenhornes - Eric Burdon and The Greenhornes EP(2012)
Just listened to it. The living legend of Rock, Eric Burdon, at his 70s, remains a great performer with a passionate rock voice. Also The Greenhornes , Cincinatti's favoutite blues revivalists, merge with Eric's passion, making a great vivid blues sound. All of this under the guidance of Brendan Benson, producer and member of the Raconteurs.
The EP has only four songs. Black Dog, Out of my mind, Can you win and Cab Driver. The first one, Black Dog,is my favourite. The song starts with Eric saying "My name is Winston Churchill, and I'm having a f***ing nervous breakdown", and then comes the outburst! Out of my mind is a great Burdon's style blues song. Can you win is a more guitaristic song and Cab driver tells about an incident of a rock band in a taxi. And then the end. I'd sure wanted to listen more of these guys, and I hope they will continue to make great songs like these!
