I love In Times and I'm not going to pass judgement on this album after just one listen but it's sounding a lot better to me now that I'm getting used to the different sound due to the new member ( clean vocals , keyboards ).
Enslaved is far too invovled musically to give them a once over and come away with the entire experience. So far, I'm digging it but not familiar enough to know where it stands in my Enslaved collection. Definitely will be buying a physical copy next order.

In Times was good too even this one is but Riitiir for me was their best work. But these 2 albums as good as they are feel a step down.
Back end of the E album is a lot better.

Get the feeling with subsequent listens it will be better but still won't stack up to Riitiir or albums previous imho.

Initial opinion vastly different to the second time around. Although I do still rate older albums higher I am hearing more elements on this listen. The melodic breakdown sections are some of the best. Second half of the album is where it shines the most imo.

That said I think the new Wolves in the Throne Room is a touch better but that's just me.

They released a killer EP Caravans To The Outer Worlds recently.
