That's true. It's a sad fact that some groups can continue for too long - I would prefer Deep Purple and Yes to call it a day, but Gillan and Squire will carry on until they drop. Carl Palmer was young when ELP split, still feels energetic and is in control of his own band.

Glad I saw Yes on the Tormato tour, but like you said if Squire wants to keep going until he's in a walker then that's his choice.

Didn't know Palmer was a lot younger than Keith and Greg back then, but he should carve out his own niche with his band now.

Carl Palmer was still a teenager, albeit a very talented one, when he found success with Atomic Rooster. His playing for them still sounds great.

^ Carl Palmer has said that if High Voltage had been a success, they would have continued. The problem is, they did not rehearse enough and did not give the reunion time to develop. Presumably, there was a deeper reason, like a continued clash between Emerson and Lake. A strong manager or producer may have been able to pull them together, but you cannot teach old dogs new tricks. Argent also reformed for High Voltage and did not continue, but they did not fall out to my knowledge. A continuation of Argent would've been good too.

My friend says that he has said there would not be enough money in it!!

Heard Lucky Man again after ages, yesterday on an episode of the Simpsons! Homer singing along to it and even doing all the synthesizer parts with his mouth . Anyway, it got me curious about their debut album. The only ELP songs I've heard so far (that I remember at least) are Lucky Man and Karn Evil 9 or whatever. And I prefer Lucky Man by a lot. Tried listening to the debut album on Grooveshark but it is difficult to listen to it at a low volume at work. Maybe I should download it and blast the CD in the car! I'm leaning towards the debut album rather than Brain Salad Surgery (which seems most popular).

Good idea, you need to give it some real volume, I have it on at the moment and it is better loud, it is a great album in it's own right, some real progressive stuff along with some classical influences.
