Diabulus in Musica. A great newer symphonic metal band from Spain with, in case you're wondering, another gorgeous & talented female singer plus some grunts from the male singer.

Only 2 albums in, but they get a lot of my listening lately when I'm in the symphonic metal mood.

They're compared to Epica & Kamelot a lot of the time. The song Ex Nihilio from their second album practically starts out as a clone of Martyr Of The Free World from Epica, but diverges sufficiently after that.

The main difference, I think, is that they have a more synth sound at times than some of the other bands. This isn't a bad thing, every new symphonic metal band can't be an exact copy of the last.

3rd album Argia, due out April 11.

Ailyn from Sirenia is doing some guest vocal(s) on this album. 2 Spanish goddesses! I hope there's a video.

Great recommendation this one. I had seen them mentioned elsewhere and generally getting bad reviews in some magazines I used to read regularly, but a friend of mine gave me a copy (real physical copy) of the new album and I must admit, I was totally blown away by it! If the old albums are nearly as good, I desperately need to get hold of them ASAP!

As I said, the first album was a little uneven, style-wise. But, it was mixed by Ad Sluijter and mastered by Sascha Paeth, two big names in the biz, so it's a well made & performed album.

The second album was more cohesive & it's still my favorite of the three by just a little bit. They really settled on a style here and ran with it.

The third album is another great effort, the Spanish language duet with Ailyn of Sirenia is amazing, even if I don't know what they're singing.

Zuberoa's vocals are right up there with Simone's or Floor's.

Excellent track. Should be a good album. I have high expectations after the last one.

The second track and it's lyric video. Even better than the first track.
