Dethklok Wikipedia

Discography
2007: The Dethalbum
2009: Dethalbum II
2012: Dethalbum III

Dethklok is both a virtual band featured in the Adult Swim animated program Metalocalypse, as well as a real band created to perform the band's melodic death metal music in live shows. The band and show are both headed by Brendon Small and Tommy Blacha. Both the show and the band poke fun of and glorify the death metal scene and often portrays dark and macabre content, including such subjects as violence, death, and the drawbacks of fame, with extremely hyperbolic black humor.

Dethklok:
Brendon Small and Tommy Blancha record all the studio works. Brendon doing the guitars, vocals, bass and keyboards and Tommy on the drums.
Live members are:
Brendon Small ~ Vocals and guitar
Bryan Beller ~ Bass and backing vocals
Mike Keneally ~ Guitar and backing vocals
Gene Hoglan ~ Drums

I quite enjoy these guys, they create some interesting songs and I enjoy the humor that comes with it.

Metalocalypse:
In Metalocalypse, Dethklok are an extremely popular and successful death metal band. The band consists of:
~ Nathan Explosion
~ Skwisgaar Skwigelf
~ Pickles
~ Toki Wartooth
~ William Murderface.

The band is pretty much totally incompetent at anything but playing death metal.

The band is committed to only playing death metal and have made an agreement with each other to never help each other as it wouldn't be 'metal' but later in the season you can see that these guys clearly do care for each other.

Murderface: We've got no friends...
Nathan: I know, it's just us. We're not friends, are we?
Skwisgaar: (firmly) No.
Murderface: (disgusted) Oh God, no.

A couple of my fav songs from these guys (hard getting it down from the entire album :heheh: )

You people out there give us something more than just record sales
You give us something to hate
And we hate you, you brainless mutants

Hate [16x]

You hunched and blinded mutants
Living in chat rooms
You masturbate on the sheets
Your mothers clean for you

You have lined my pockets
Overflowed with gold
You're living with your parents
And you're 35 years old

You're a bunch of banks
That I'd like to rob
You're my online cash transaction
You're my future stocks

Transfer you like money
To a Swiss account
Spend you on an impulse buy
And zero you all out

Hate [16x]

You sad and putrid losers
Complaining on the couch
Think you're ****ing better than us?'
You can't leave your house

Deluded little maggots
Fold your arms and frown
Go to work and make me money
Before I put you down

You're a bunch of banks
That I'd like to rob
You're my online cash transaction
You're my future stocks

Transfer you like money
To a Swiss account
Spend you on an impulse buy
And zero you all out

Hate [16x]

I would like to get some sleep
But you keep buying all our things
My overhead is way too deep
For us to not make all these things

It's way too cynical, you see?
Hating what's supporting me
I am not you, I thank the gods
And if I were, I'd die like dogs

Die [30x]
DIE!

You're a bunch of banks
That I'd like to rob
You're my online cash transaction
You're my future stocks

Transfer you like money
To a swiss account
Spend you an on impulse buy
And zero you all out

You're a credit card
That I will defile
Every time I max you out
I get a thousand miles

You're a brand new car
That I do not need
Wrap you round a telephone pole
Shrug it off and leave

Just follow me... Down the elevator...
Through the gates... down the stairs...
Just keep on walking... through the hallway...

Now open the door...

Re: Dethklok/Metalocalypse

That brings back memories seeing "Dethlok's" name in here Harkat.

Years ago when I first met Magic I downloaded a Dethlok song by accident, and I didn't know what to think when I played it the next day...:lmao: The first death metal song I ever listened to, but being open minded I did check out quite a few other bands/songs from the genre before deciding I preferred other styles more.

Having said all that, very nicely done mighty H, I like how you incorporated it with that TV show, which I have never even seen listed where I live.

Re: Dethklok/Metalocalypse

I would have found it very hard to not have both, as, for me, both intertwine with each other.
They aren't my favourite band around as I have trouble listening to them without the show but I thoroughly enjoy the TV show and some of the music Brendon Small plays, I find to be really enjoyable and rather addicting at times.

I think that Brendon Small did a really great job with this, to create the music and to create the show.

Re: Dethklok/Metalocalypse

I see I was asleep when I posted in your thread Harkat...I got your virtual band confused with a real death metal band..."Dethlok"...so I've never heard the music from Dethklok before today.

My bad, serves me right for not paying closer attention.:bonk:

No no, you were correct LG, this is a thread on both. More about the music but still about both.
For me, they both intertwine with each other and you can't have one without the other. :grinthumb

I guess I need more caffeine...I could have sworn there was another Scandinavian band called "Dethlok" that predates the one you posted the thread for.
