To each their own, but I prefer "We Are the Others" and "The Human Contradiction". "Lucidity" is a great record, but it feels a bit less like a band album with all the guests involved. None the less, the songs are top notch and I do prefer it over "April Rain".

From what's been written, Lucidity wasn't meant to be a band album, so you "get it" as far as that's concerned.

In 2001, Westerholt was forced to leave Within Temptation after contracting Pfeiffer's disease. In 2002, he formed Delain. In the same year, they independently released the demo Amenity. After the demo, Westerholt left the project behind for a bit, but continued to write music. In 2005, he joined with Charlotte Wessels, and was signed to Roadrunner Records. At the time, the band was envisioned as a musical project featuring a host of guest musicians, and not as a live band

April Rain is awesome too. Heck they haven't really released anything bad.

Frozen might just be my favourite Delain song. So catchy and love the vocal harmonies in the chorus.

Delain will release a new EP called "Lunar Prelude" on February 19th 2016 and there's plans for a new full-length sometime in 2016. I can't wait for the the EP, a new album and with a bit of luck, to see them live again!

The EP details:

Lunar Prelude, mastered by Grammy Award winning Ted Jensen, offers two brand new songs in the shape of the beyond catchy ‘Suckerpunch‘ and the melancholic ‘Turn The Lights Out‘. ‘Don`t Let Go‘ (taken from 2014`s The Human Contradiction) comes in a brand new version, while the EP also contains four incredible live cuts, as well as an orchestral reprise of ‘Suckerpunch‘, all of which proving once again how DELAIN are blatantly known for their extremely catchy hooks, bewitching melodies, symphonic bombast, and of course a good solid dose of Metal! DELAIN have concocted a mesmerizing kaleidoscope of emotions, and with the EP title featuring the tell-tale word "Prelude", our hunger is left to grow for a next full-length album...coming in 2016!

Suckerpunch
Turn the Lights Out
Don't Let Go
Lullaby (Live 2015)
Stardust (Live 2015)
Here Come the Vultures (Live 2015)
Army of Dolls (Live 2015)
Suckerpunch Orchestra

Intrigued as to whether that EP's songs will all be on the new album itself too.

We'll have to wait and see, but I don't think they should be! I'll get the EP no matter what though. The live tracks will more than make up for the purchase, even if the studio tracks do end up on the next album.

EP tracks almost never get repeated on the next album, and that's OK. But only 2 new tracks is a little thin.

Still, something to tide us over (like the recent Xandria EP) will do.

^^ Well, I'm OK with just a few new tracks on the EP and I know the live part will be great, but I do wish they'd release a proper concert album/Blu-ray/DVD rather than releasing a few live tracks here and there.
