Thanks, eberg. Maybe as I see how it develops and where I might be able to fit in unobtrusively I might change my mind.

Not to derail the thread any further, but that Frogwhompers link was interesting. They obviously share a lot of the same influences that I have. If you think you might like bluegrass with a more ragged edge, I highly recommend a group that I think is out of Minnesota, called Trampled By Turtles. They seem at times to be teetering right on the edge of control, and it suits their music really well. They're also available at cdbaby. "Codeine" is a special favorite of mine. That album in the link is fantastic, but they also have another one with what I think may be one of the best-named songs of all time: "My Brother Works for the CIA When He's Not Doing Time." :D

I'll check it out a bit later, my dad saw the Frogwhompers a lot in college, they were from Athens county OH, Ohio University, but they always hosted the bluegrass/hippy festivals around the area...

I don't have any home recording gear anymore. All of that stuff is long gone. I appreciate the invite/offer, but I'll have to pass. However, I'll definitely keep an eye on this and see what you guys can come up with.

We need groupies, Lynch:lmao:

I play guitar, drums, and sing. No recording equipment of my own, but I think my new drummer has some if not I can just go to a recording studio to **** around with it.

I'm on board and will let you know if I can send something or not.

I can play bass and guitar, but I'm a beginner, so maybe next time I'll join a collab. Right now I wouldn't be of any use.

skill level doesn't matter, if you can play a few chords it's good enough for rock n roll:D

Well, if that's your attitude...OK! ;)

I'll give it a shot if I can figure out a way to actually record. I have no computer recording software or hardware - just a little TASCAM DP-004 that I barely know how to operate.

No, it's a little 4-track digital one with built in stereo condenser mics. You can record and mix on it, then connect it to the computer with a USB and read its files like an external hard drive. Cool little device, but unnecessarily complicated, IMO.

How I would coordinate it with tracks from the outside world, I have no idea.

download that, it's very simple to use,

actually, you could even just record your track and send it to me through email or on here or something, and just listen to the progress of the other tracks through speakers like normal when you play, and someoen can mix your track in for you... that wouldn't be a problem at all..... actually that is how I envisioned this anyways:grinthumb
