Van Morrison...who apart from being a genius is the only one here who (at times) sounds to me authentically Irish.... though I'd have maybe voted for The Corrs if they had been on your list.

Thin Lizzy (particuarly with Eric Bell) and Rory Gallagher, but I like Gary Moore a lot. Horslips are also one of my favourite bands and there is Fruupp too. Phil's Grand Slam were far better than the press would have you believe. The Chieftains are not a rock band, but they are exciting to watch.
