Yes, it is an incredibly disturbing image if you know what it is about...that is why it works so well for me, it elicits a reaction everytime I see it. And it fits so well with what RATM was all about.

Fairly random list - I've tried to go with covers which amazed me when I first started out collecting and listening. Typically gatefold-covers that'd never cease to entertain me with endless artwork and/or information you'd gawk at for hours. Deciphering lyrics and pictures - 'the concept'... WHAT was the concept?? The hidden, secret details.......

In conclusion: cd's suck!

... and remember the time when you got 75% of your music knowledge from going over the fine print on vinyl covers? Where I grew up we didn't really have rock/metal mags till later... the Commodore 64 had barely come around yet....

I agree with you about vinyl album covers, gatefolds and some that came with booklets or sleeves filled with information about the band and the record.

I do miss the album covers, but I also love the Clean sound of a properly produced CD, although a poorly remixed/remastered CD is definitely not as good as a good vinyl version, especially when it comes to lot of 60's/70's bands.

Clean sound is ok but it gets old after a while, imo Perfect is simply more boring than flawed... and not just in music either

I have kept a few of my best vinyl records, and many were lost in a fire years ago so I have made the switch to digital. Both have things in their favor, and when I play a Classical Symphony on my DSP it is breathtaking.
