I just heard a version of "Funky Town" by Pseudo Echo and think it's awesome.

Lesley Gore made a comment last night that she went to the White Elephant Disco in London and saw the Beatles when they were still doing Isley Brothers covers ... This is interesting ~ from Wikipedia

Twist and Shout" is a song written by Phil Medley and Bert Russell. It was originally recorded by the Top Notes and then covered by The Isley Brothers. It was covered by The Beatles with John Lennon on the lead vocals and originally released on their first album Please Please Me. The song was covered by The Mamas & the Papas (in the style of a ballad) in 1967 on their album Deliver, and on a film soundtrack by Cliff Richard. It was also covered by The Tremeloes. Most recently Chaka Demus and Pliers (featuring Jack Radics and Taxi Gang) reached #1 on the UK charts with their version in January 1994. The Who performed it throughout their career, most notably on Live at the Isle of Wight Festival 1970 and 1982's Who's Last.

Good tune, I didn't know Bruce Springteen wrote it.
Wrote and recorded it first. Same goes with a couple of other Manfred Mann hits...

For You
&
Spirits in the Night

Both first written and recorded by Bruce. Manfred's versions of all three are MUCH better than Bruce's if you ask me.

Billy Joel knows.
Bruce's version is his usual uneven beats and scratchy screeching vocals. I never did care for him. I think he pushes himself to scream and his voice has been shot for years. I do not get it. Is it Americana? Or is it that mediocrity sells? Little Steven IS the band.:dunno:
