If your age is displayed correctly, then you were 9 years old when Jimi went Bon Scott. I don't think that qualifies as "being there at the time" too much.
When you were old enough to feel Jimi's music, that era was gone already.

I can totally respect the love for Hendrix though, he was an important influence in rock history. I don't have to like his music to realize that. I wish we had more people like him today.
