Yep.
I got my first copy, the orange label Capitol from a radio contest in 1980 perhaps. A 1976 pressing most likely. I love it!
I have seven other copies on vinyl, cd, and of course the super deluxe box set.

...tough one this...liking Sgt.Pepper is the same as describing the taste of water- I admire the 'technical' achievements- but not all the songs appeal. I much prefer Magical Mystery Tour. Rolling Stones released three good albums in '67....but this does it for me.
A young Ry Cooder getting it on with the Captain!

Captain Beefheart- Zig Zag Wanderer .

...Great shame this thread hasn't attracted much attention...I think this forum is slowly dying...a couple of years back, folk would be scrambling to post or gently argue or disagree with another members choice. Shaggy and Riff Raff and Griffin need to address fading interaction. I can see the games coming back onto the mains again!

Of course, The Doors is untouchable classic, and St. Pepper is our "sacred cow" (and don't forget about mighty Stones with "Their Satanic Majesties Request"), but here I still prefer Pink Floyd's "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn"

Really good year for music but I suspect many here were too young to really appreciate it.
I was only 16 that year and just finished my second year in 'high school' and had turned 16 in July the ''summer of love''. My brother and I had been buying 45/singles for the last 3- 4 years or so which were still popular. We did get some lps like Sgt Pepper , Are You Experienced, and Disraeli Gears but most of our lps were bought when we started college...him in 68 and me in 69. I know we had a Monkees lp and a Doors which we played a lot in 67....I suppose we played Sgt Pepper the most but it was so long ago I cant recall.

A nice ,list of all the really good ones
