Re: Bee Gees

The Bee Gees at one point were heralded as the 'next coming' of the Beatles, weren't they?

Then again, I think ELO was at one point too.

Yep they always tag it on with somebody new, I think Cheap Trick even got it at one point...

Anyway, I'm a fan of the Bee Gees Pre-Disco. Everything from their first album to Trafalgar is just finely contructed British pop music. In particular I like New York Mining Disaster 1941 and the entire Odessa album.

Re: Bee Gees

Their masterpiece, as far as I'm concerned.

I'll go so far as saying it's as good as anything the Beatles were putting out at the time. Odessa is wonderful too except it could have been shorter. Not all of it works but the stuff that does work is terrific.

Re: Bee Gees

If Peace of Mind is from 1964 , got to say its impressive
and shows all the promise that they went on to fulfill
in one hell of a pop career.
I heard some time ago that Robin and Barry were back in
the studio, I thought there would be TV follow up,
but nothing happened

Maybe they will put out an LP and begin a new phase
with a new name............ The Gibb Brothers.................

The Bee Gees came up in another thread and I almost forgot about this, but thought it would be fun to post.

Here is the famous Clive Anderson Intwerview that pissed off Barry. He walks off the set followed by Robin and Maurice (R.I.P.)

They left the show pretty classy I must say. Clive was being a jerk. Love Barry, "You're the tosser" :grinthumb

NEvermind, I just watched it. HEH. Cool. Clive is definitely a tosser. Trying to be funny, sarcastic and dickish with a smile doesn't make you a good interviewer. With the right people, sure. Sometimes its overboard and I can't blame them.

Honestly, I think they were pretty good sports and stuck it out longer than some celebs might while laughing off insult after insult.

Love this tune. Never liked that first 15 seconds or so of the intro, but love the rest of the tune. Good melodies, good song.
