Soundgarden. Between Chris Cornell's problems with drugs and depression and the clash of interests between the band members, plus the pressures of touring... their first stint came to an end one day when Ben Shepherd's equipment failed on stage and he launched his bass into the speakers and walked off, and Kim Thayil hung his guitar on an amp, filling the venue with feedback screech, and followed off stage.

The Smashing Pumpkins, too. You know a guy is a douche when he's as talented as Billy Corgan, and as successful a band as the Smashing Pumpkins, and no one can stand to be in a band with him.

^^Sooty is a massive Pumpkins fan, I've got all their albums except the new one. Billy is eccentric but there is no denying his talent...my only complaint is his vocals on some tracks just don't do it for me.

He's also probably one of the biggest douche bags in rock, unfortunately, because he's ridiculously talented as a lyricist and a guitarist. I even enjoy his voice.

How about Sonic Youth? They ended in divorce. Which kinda sucks, because I figured Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore were the ultimate rocker couple... guess not.
