You left the best part out of the story...At the time, there was no law in California against stealing a dead body, so his manager and assistant were only given a $750 fine for stealing a coffin.
Graham Parsons
One day in 1973 while intoxicated Parsons revealed that when he dies he wanted to be cremated at Joshua Tree Park. Little did he know that 2 months later his life would end after a lethal combination of Alcohol & Morphine (enough to kill 3 people). Parson's father arranged for a burial in New Orleans but the body had disappeared from the L.A. Airport. His personal assistant & road manager stole the coffin,brought it to the Joshua Tree National Park, poured gasoline all over it, & ignited it.
