There were some bands back in the 80’s that at the time did not capture my full attention. I had friends that listened to the top 40 pop songs and “new wave” artists. I certainly listen to some of the music but I was really more interested in album oriented rock. But a few years after graduating high school and when I had expendable income, I started revisiting artists from the 80’s and listening to more albums than just singles.
I think pop bands like Duran Duran, Men At Work, Aldo Nova, Billy Squier, The Cult, Tears For Fears, Bryan Adams… I mean these guys all emerged in the 80’s and put out some really good albums. Not just songs. Not just singles but complete albums that are still favorites of mine.
The Fixx, INXS, Huey Lewis and The News. There was plenty of great stuff around in the 80’s beyond the older, established acts that carried over from the 60’s and 70’s. Anyone who says the 80’s sucks is entitled to there opinion but my opinion is that they are wrong.
