Artists/bands that saved the 80s from total oblivion

The most famous kings and queens of pop and close genres totally exploded in the 80's - Michael Jackson, Madonna, Phil Collins, Eurythmics, Prince etc.

I would not place Phil Collins in the pop genre, he is rock.

Although i lost touch with Queen pretty much after News Of The World - this at the time got me re-ignited.

Ian Paice's skin and stick work was great on this offering...especially as the world at the time was obsessed with a skinny guy with flowers hanging out his ass shouting 'Meat Is Murder'.
