And some of my favourites:

Depeche Mode
New Order
Duran Duran
Dream Theater
Madness
Boston
Billy Joel
Cold Chisel
Crowded House & Split Enz
Dinosaur Jr.
Foreigner
The Go-Betweens
Heart
House Of Lords
Huey Lewis & The News
Hoodoo Gurus
Living Colour
Meatloaf
Men At Work
Midnight Oil
The Smiths
Toto
Twisted Sister

I'd add The Smiths, Midnight Oil, Living Colour, Dinosaur Jr., Madness to my list as well .... But

Chewy Mucus & The Rubes ?? Really? I would put them into the driving music into Total Oblivion Category.

IMO the only good thing to come out of Chewy Mucus & The Rubes was this scene from American Psycho:

I like Huey Lewis Terra, his music in my "just a bit of fun" section ;)

Besides, just quietly, I'm a bit of a Back To The Future nerd :peek:

I'm quite a fan of Huey Lewis & The News.

Some people often blast me for not going out and getting drunk every night, and I usually reply with a YouTube video of "Hip to Be Square"

They don't get it, though :(

The word "thrash" comes to mind when I think of bands that made a huge change in music during the 80's. Thrash/heavy metal bands like Anthrax, Pantera, Metallica, and Slayer.

There were tons of great metal albums released in 80's IMO. And I'm not talking about that pop-"metal " stuff like Poison etc. I was never into that stuff at all but the real metal stuff is the golden era of the genre as far as I am concerned.

^^Here's a band I like more now than when I first heard them back in the 80's. For some reason many people don't give them a second thought, but in my books they are right up there with Maiden and Priest.
