Re: Alice In Chains

I love this band and sadly missed them the first time around, I love the new album and DuVall is a great singer, not as good as Layne (R.I.P.) however he is a fantastic replacement IMO. :)

He is a great signer. I think there are two singers that could have replaced Layne just as well. Cory Taylor (him singing some cover songs of them with Camp Freddy was impressive) and Phil Aneslmo (now that he is off drugs he has his insane range back. Cemetary Gates on Cowboys From Hell showed his great range.).

DuVall is great though.

CN, here's a couple of my favourite tracks from the Mad Season project, 'Above', featuring Layne Staley, Mike McCready from Pearl Jam, and Martin Barrett from the Screaming Trees:

Re: Alice In Chains

I am not a fan of Grunge music by any means, but AIC was the best band to come out of the early 90's. Excellent melodies, harmonies and guitar solos/riffs. Some things you typically wouldn't associate with the grunge scene, IMO.

Too bad Layne passed, he was one of the most unique voices in all of music.
