That is a good one too MP. I'll go the opposite, his 1967 debut "Bedsitter Images". It didn't do much for his career, the decision to use full orchestra instead of a more straight ahead simple folk approach was a mistake. Still you could see and hear the talent he possessed, and I have to say as far as singer songwriters go he is my favorite from across the pond.

The title track.

Re: Al Stewart: Official Thread

YouTube has pulled a lot of Al Stewart off the site...

:mad

I can't find ''Almost Lucy'' - another goodie from ''Time Passages''

Anyway, for those who haven't heard the song, you can listen to the audio track here... Almost Lucy (give it a few seconds to load)

Year Of The Cat is an excellent album. Spun that album during many smoky evenings of yore among the soundtracks to our Sheepshead marathons.:heheh::grinthumb

Year of the Cat like all of Al's work can pull one out of a slump. Alot of GREAT songs in this thread. He's awesome in every which way...but YOTC will always be my favorite.

C'mon...try to be in a bad mood while listening to this song. :heheh:

An epic tune here...just beautiful!

It's so great it brings one to tears. :wa

Wednesday, October 20th, 2010

Accompanied by guitarist Dave Nachmanoff

Check his calendar to see if he's coming by you. This is just a link to HIS website's tour page.

These are acoustic shows and here's how they look. I would enjoy this...I hope I'm able to go.

I think Al lives in California now and has for years, so doing these small acoustic tours is no trouble at all. If I remember correctly he is also a "Huge" wine collector, and it is his favorite beverage, I would gladly share a bottle of Cabernet with him and talk about his amazing music odyssey.

Re: Al Stewart: Official Thread

I love this guy. So much talent, Year of the cat ripped me from my heavy metal roots,
and I had to get that album and have collected loads since.
Beautiful lyrics, songs of love, life, history and mystery, far flung places and
wonderful stories. I see him whenever he is near. Yep .. he loves the wine.
