Re: Al Stewart: Official Thread

^^You are so right about that Iggy, he is a History Buff and it shows in his songwriting. I was lucky enough to get the only copy of Year of the Cat when it came out in my small town back in the day, and became a fan of his from then on.

Re: Al Stewart: Official Thread

I like Al Stewart. I love the hits and I'm slowly getting aquainted with some of his other material. I have Time Passages and Year Of the Cat on vinyl. I think the song Year Of The Cat is an absolutely incredible song, the full 7 minute version on a great stereo is a wonderful musical experience.

^^Year of the Cat and Time Passages are both first class Stepcousin.

Modern Times, Past Present and Future are both worth checking out from his early years.

Yes that entire album is simply class.

Managed to "acquire" a beautiful vinyl rip of "...Cat" in DVD format a few months ago, both the MFSL edition and the "Simply Vinyl" version. That puts me at 5 different versions of that one album...:bonk:

Yeah it's an addiction.:heheh:

^^He is one of my all time favorite singer/songwriters, his fascination with time and history have given us some excellent songs over the years. I think I have Every album he's ever released...have to look to see if anything new is out.

MP will know, I'll let him investigate seein' I'm lazy this morning.;)
