I first saw Aerosmith back in 1973 when they opened for Black Sabbath at madison square garden. They blew Sabbath off the stage....Sabbath was not pleased..I have seen them live just about every time they come to the New York area......they just keep getting better. They are my fav American band..:D
I can't say what my fav song is but Rats in the Cellar is as close as I can come.I also love Pink and St. John.:****:

Never saw them live until 1991 at The Forum here in SoCal. Great show with Ry Cooder joining them onstage on "All Your Loving"... I would love to have seen them in the mid to late '70's. Oh well, there's always "Live! Bootleg", my bootlegs of that era and my laserdisc copy of "Texxas Jam" to fall back on.

CH, I totally agree sister. I'm a 90's child so Get a Grip was the first Aerosmith I ever encountered, and I remember the videos for Crazy and Cryin' drawing me into the band and I eventually got around to getting to know their more "classic" stuff. I don't think it's a bad thing for the younger generations to be introduced to Aerosmith through albums like Get A Grip if it gives them the opportunity to get to know the band's older stuff and appreciate how they've evolved. I also like Just Push Play but it gets a lot of criticism from the hardcore fans.

Exactly. Everyone has to start somewhere so a massive album like "Get A Grip" (it's sold what, 20+ million copies or something at this point, right?) is a fine place to start. Plus I just sang "Cryin'" at karaoke a couple hours ago. :D

I have to disagree with you on "Just Push Play" though Jen. I will admit to liking a few songs from it like "Avant Garden" but I'm just not wild about the super pop direction they too with it. Overkill if you ask me.

My first experience (live) with Aerosmith was the "Done With Mirrors" tour. Wow , that was grand.

2007 at Hyde Park Calling Festival on a ****ing miserable rainy day. Though the fact I'd waited 7 years to see them made up for it, as did the versions of Sweet Emotion and Draw The Line they did.

Had the privilege of seeing them twice since, and Perry solo twice. One of my favourite bands, hope they come back to the UK and Europe soon.

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but here is Steven Tyler performing "Dream On" at this year's Idol finale. Still looking good and sounds pretty good.

I really liked the fresh rock perspective Tyler brought to the show. He really showed a lot of compassion for the contestants and made this last season more bearable. They can ditch J. Lo but I hope he'll be back this season.
