I like Lambert, and I think he would be a much more suitable vocalist for Queen (in terms of replacing Mercury). He has the stage presence and the overall rocker look to do it well.

But he doesn't have vocals dear, those are the only thing that counts ..I'd rather see George Michael be front..he has it all and he can do it with respect to Freddie ..

Adams voice is ok but it's not WOW,,for Queen it NEEDS to be WOW !

True. Though I was only basing this off of comparing to having Lady Gaga sing for Queen. If it were a decision between the two, I would've chosen Lambert over Gaga any day. There's probably a few vocalists that would fill Mercury's place very well, George Michael is definitely one of those people.

Perhaps Queen is just experimenting with vocalists at the moment to see if they can find that one vocalist that fits them well. I mean, first we hear about Gaga performing with them, now Adam Lambert.

If they end up having Bieber sing with them, all hope is lost :heheh:

And just so everyone knows I am rolling my eyes at how seriously people are taking this and not over the performance itself. Queen is my favorite band, Freddie is my favorite singer, and both Brian and Roger are among my favorite guitarists and drummers (respectively) and even I am not being a sourpuss over it, or the whole Gaga thing for that matter. Journey, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Boston, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and countless other bands replaced their singers for one reason or another and all people do is go "Well that's shame." and move on but Queen does a couple off performances with some younger stars that just want to play with their heroes and fans start to foam at the mouth and/or pee themselves because they get so fired up (in the wrong way....though not that there is a right way to pee oneself). :bonk:

Adam Lambert is obviously a talented singer really that is my criticism with him more than anything and it has been as long as he's been in the public eye. He knows all too well that he skilled and has a commanding grasp on his vocal range but because of that he just shows off ALL-THE-TIME when it's not warranted at all. Besides, this isn't even the first time Adam has sang with Queen.

I've been thinking lately that with Queen being still in the public eye some 15 years after the band officially disbanded and with all of the work they've been doing as of late with different singers I think that if they are going to put out a new album it should follow along the lines of Slash's solo album or some Santana albums. You know, an album with a different singer, younger or older, on each song with them being written by Brian and Roger with input from the singer that would appear on each track. If they were able to work with so many people for the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert and countless instances since then why not do an album like that. THAT seems like a good idea to me.

I see what you mean , there..I agree

I don't fault them for playing with a variety of talents,,even Gaga (tho I loathe her as a singer) I think they are just out there all over the place

I just think it makes us die-hard fans upset because it's like the dignity in the band is just being lost when you spread yourself out as 'Queen' has..

And nobody is trying to replace Freddie..it is just certain people can really get you thinking :wth: lol..

I actually think Adam is a pretty good singer but I think Harmony is right about him showing off ? Harmony I think you made some descent points ..

maybe thats what bugs me about him..I'm not sure..it's watching that video..my reaction was zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ,just show Brian's playing :heheh:

^I totally understand what it is like for the die hard Queen fans. It'd probably be the same reaction I would have if Elliott Smith or any of my favorite vocalist and bands started to do something a little odd in order to keep them going. Not saying that's what Queen is doing, but I do understand how it's difficult to grasp Queen with a new vocalist when the die hard fans fell in love with them with Freddie Mercury involved. And I wouldn't think they'd replace Mercury either, I worded that part a little weirder than I meant it.
