Most of the albums I've been waiting for have already been released. All I'm waiting for is new Witch Mountain & Ghost Brigade and will probably skip Kat's live album. Never really liked how they sound live compared to their studio stuff. Also interested in that new Ne Obliviscaris. I wasn't even aware that they had new stuff coming out this year

Katatonia Ive seen live and they sounded awesome.

The best rock album I've heard this year has been Black Smoke Cherry's Magic Mountain album that came out back in May. It's not as good as their previous 3 albums, but it is still very solid in my opinion.

Of course, that's not metal, so feel free to delete my post.

For hard rock/metalish stuff, one of the best album I've heard this year is the KXM album.

Yeah, exactly. George Lynch (Dokken, Lynch Mob, T&N), Doug Pinnick (Kings X) and Ray Luzier (Korn)

As far as metal goes, the next big release for me is:







I seriously expect this one to be one of the top metal albums of 2014. Needless to add, calling them just metal is not really doing them any justice anymore. Their sound has evolved to something much bigger!

Best straight up metal album (for me) would have to be Judas Priest - Redeemer of Souls
