The Yardbirds-Too Much Monkey Business

The first Yardbirds album was recorded live at the Marquee Club in London during March 1964 and released that December. The U.S. would have to wait another year before hearing some of those songs on the American debut album "Having A Rave Up'. 19 year old Eric Clapton made his recording debut with this album. The Chuck Berry penned song led off the concert

James Gang- Take A Look Around (1969)

Yer' Album was the first of 3 albums Joe Walsh captained with the James Gang before leaving for a solo career and ultimately joining The Eagles. This 3 man group would alternate between hard rock and moody melodic tunes. Joe wrote the bulk of the songs as well as performed all the guitar/keyboard/vocals.

Frank Sinatra- You Go To My Head

Frank's first solo album was the 1946 "The Voice Of Frank Sinatra" released by Columbia Records. It collected 8 songs previously released on 4 78 rpm records. It was the first pop record released for 33 1/3 rpm. it was also the #1 album for 7 straight weeks. Not having much competition in that format did help

Tyrannosaurus Rex- Hot Rod Mama (1968)

The psychedelic folk song debut of Mark Bolan's band whose name will later be shortened to T. Rex. Somehow he never got around to shortening the album title which was "My People Were Fair and Had Sky in Their Hair... But Now They're Content to Wear Stars on Their Brows"

The Raspberries- Go All The Way (1972)

The Raspberries were an American power-pop group from the early 70s, very much influenced by The Beatles. They delivered 4 albums and 4 Top 40 singles before disbanding in 1975. Lead singer Eric Carmen went on to a successful solo career doing romantic pop ballads.

Their first album\first song was their commercial, and IMHO, best tune. Maybe it's the kiss-of-death when you can't top your debut song
