A little checking up on the Raspberries will tell you why they belong on any list of overlooked/underrated bands. Check out these reviews from when they reunited:
I feel like twisted sister needs to be added to this list. Though they really only had two major hits, I think they could have been more if people gave them a chance. but for some reason they just didn't catch on. And I agree with you on Chicago- a lot of really great songs in their time!
1. Thin Lizzy- one of the best hard rock bands of all-time
2. UFO- see above
3. The Call- never could figure out why they didn't hit big
4. Big Country- much, much more than a one-hit wonder
5. Shooting Star- very solid AOR band
6. Y & T- another very good hard rock band that barely got airplay
7. Supertramp- vastly underappreciated art/prog rock
8. Old 97's- alt country rock at it's finest
9. The Jayhawks- see above
10. Uncle Tupelo/Wilco/Son Volt- the 1st band gave birth to the other two and all 3 are underrated
Honorable Mention:
Starz
New England
Axe
April Wine
Whiskeytown
