Re: Little River Band - 1970`s

^^That seems strange to me...you'd think the majority of old band members touring would be able to lawfully use the name. I'm sure they still play all the great old songs when they tour under their new name.

I think these newer version of Little River Band plays more dates in North America than in Australia.I wonder if they are welcome there:D

I was reading the bios of the new band-3 are from Nashville and one from Chicago_One member doesn't list anything.

Have to ask our resident Aussies about that one...but it's possible they get a better response here than at home.

That is a surprise, considering how successful they were you'd figure they would still be at home.

Oh well you learn something new everyday Fever.:cheers2

I liked them in the 70's.. I have at least 5 of their albums.. Great harmonies.. Can't really add much since they were like the bands I started listening too along with Pablo Cruz.. ToTo..Molly Hatchet...and others that were more southern rock or a little popish if that is what that genre would be considered..

I grew up listening to their hits and I love those songs. Great songwriters.

In response to an earlier question, yeah, from what I can gather, the Little River Band gets a bigger reception in the Southern States of America than anywhere. Although there is a cult following for them here, no doubt about it.

But the following here is larger from their temporary lead singer, John Farnham :heheh:

The TRUTH...! My favourite Aussie band coz of all the above comments.

LRB created timeless classic rock hits with an amazing vocal connection between Glenn Shorrock, Beep Birtles and Graeham Goble much like the infamous Crosby Stills and Nash.
It was the main reason for their success and they've lost the ability to make any comebacks coz of shrewd business done by Wayne Nelson. He played bass with them after the major 70's hits and was the only American in the band. The Aussie trio simply left one by one due to inflated EGO's (the typical killer of bands) without knowing what they were throwing away. Now it is an American band and a clone or tribute show.

It sickens me to see their latest film clip featuring the American military in action defending the rights of the oppressed middle east. Why don't you write something that effects and inspires us all? ......love, peace, horny sex, free power, food, medicine, cure for baldness, grey hair, obesity, etc.

WAR is overdone and so are todays L.R.B.U.S.A.

No offence to our American brothers......

I heard this song on Sirius Deep Tracks, since obviously their big U.S. hits were Lonesome Loser & Reminiscing.

I swore I was listening to a CSN song. It's that similar to them.
