I don't know if BJA has a problem or not, or whether this was an attention grabber or not.

I do know the post-tantrum (because that's what it was. Meltdown is an overly dramatic description) statement by his (I guess) 'people' was a fine job of damage control @ss-smooching.

A couple of things on this:

1) in his rant, he's talking about having been doing this since 1988, oddly enough, he was one of the original members of GD which were formed in 1987. But... I guess he was close, so that's worth something.

2) No one on earth knew who the hell Green Day was before 1994, anything that came before that was nothing more than being a garage band and doesn't count one bit towards "seniority" imho.

3) Usher's first album also came out in 1994. Their "seniority" is about equal if you ask me.

pfttt.. it's the Iheartradio awards show in a casino. Not exactly like some huge music festival. And for the record, Green Day hasn't put out a new album in 3 years. Sure they have something new coming out pretty soon, but it's NOT out and they really aren't smoking up the music charts right now. Usher, on the other hand, has an album that came out 3 months ago and has peaked at #1 on the US charts as well as the R&B charts. The 'respect' should go to the guys that are making the money right now, when you consider who promoted this event.

Personally, I wouldn't ever listen to either one on purpose, but that's just me.

Oh Snoopy, how I've missed your dissected posts. :flirt

:heheh:

The guitar smashing was the best part of the whole show, IMO.

As long as they got paid for the full 45 minutes......the jokes on the folks who cut him short.

This sounds like some excellent Green Day publicity........negative shit sells as well as sex these days

The more I think about it and look at it...the more I think it's publicity. This is a big release project and the first UNO sounds pretty good in fact.

I think it's funny to watch someone smash a guitar these days, only Pete Townshend should be allowed to do it and then only when the Who were intact back in the 70's.

When he first did it John and Roger didn't know what to think other than Pete was 'avving a moment...:heheh: But Keith Moon loved it and soon both of them were destroying their gear on stage.

As mentioned by Magic and MP this does have an air of being a stunt to gather attention but I still find it pathetic that all these artists/celebs go off the reservation for a moment and then their handlers quickly announce a retreat to a rehab facility to set things right again.:wtf:
