Yes, I remember thinking that at one point myself. I know DJ Ashba has said before that Slash was a big influence on him but really with the Les Paul and the top hat and standing next to Axl....

He's like a pair of cowboy boots away from biting Slash's entire look.

On a somewhat related note Axl doesn't looks THAT overweight to me, at least not in this picture. It just looks like his face is swollen. I mean, I know it's not, but that's all it really looks like. Allergic reaction to bee stings maybe? :bonk:

Yeah he didn't seem all that big on That Metal Show either. Just some face bloat really.

Giving the thread a bump for a couple of reasons. One, they were just inducted into the RnRHOF (take that for what it's worth but Congrats to the band just the same), and two, I just gave this song a listen and was fairly impressed. Might be one of the best songs off of Chinese Democracy that I've heard so far.

this was much better than I was expecting from a slower/ballady tune by them.

^^ That song is one of the 2 or 3 songs I took as positives out of Chinese Democracy.
Say what you will whether Appetite is over rated but I love it and I love Paradise City. My favourite Gunners song.

You won't hear me rip on Appetite. I will go to my grave with the opinion that Appetite is one of the single best and most incredible debut albums ever recorded.

^^ also a great track and a great way to open up that album. I'm pretty sure that when I bought UYI 1 and 2, I probably played that track more than any other for a while. Love everything about that track.

That's actually the one song from "Chinese Democracy" that Axl is the sole writer for and definitely one of my favorites from it as well.:grinthumb My other favorite would be "Catcher In The Rye"...



It has a classic Guns N' Roses vibe to it and some of my favorite lyrics that Axl Rose has ever written.

"Paradise City" isn't just my favorite Guns song but one of my favorite songs of all time. I have to stop myself from listening to it when it comes on the radio in my car but it makes me want to drive dangerously....:heheh:

Fom me GR is one of the best bandss all over the world.

The fi¡rst CD that I bought was Appetite For Destrucction, and my brother paid the middle. We liked a lot that disk. I still have it.

For my it's their best disk. Paradice City it's their best song.

I like too Welcome to the Jungle, Since I Don¡t Have You and November Rain.

They can make beter a song of another band, like Knokin' On Heaven¡s Doors, Dust In The wind Fade It Black....

And it's very easy and cheap dress like Axl in halloween, jaja

Guns and roses, maybe my fav band, Welcome to the jungle, sweet child o´mine, so many memories. I miss the original lineup,
