Re: Jethro Tull I have a pretty large collection of Jethro Tull albums. I got into them around 10-11 years ago. I'd heard some radio hits and odds and ends in the early 70s but never got into them. Re: Metallica I actually heard "Death Magnetic" before ever hearing any of the 80s albums. DM is a pretty good album but I can't hear it all the way through in one sitting. It's just too brutal sounding. It's relentless. It doesn't have the dynamics of the early albums with the acoustic guitar... -

Re: The Official Queen Thread Haven't been listening to much Queen in recent years but they are a very good band from the 70s (haven't heard much at all from the 80s). I think my favorite is Queen II, followed by Sheer Heart Attack, and A Night At The Opera (Prophet Song is unbelievable).- Vic2010

What Do You Consider To Be An Original Lineup?
Whoever was in the band when they recorded their first album is the original lineup (imo). But most bands have a "core" set of members while some other position in the band is a revolving door of constant change. An example would be Jethro Tull. Is the "Art Rock" genre/label extinct?
In the 70s it was all art/rock. "Progressive" was used even earlier. "Prog" was invented (as a genre label) in the 80s I think. To me all are interchangeable. But on prog forums they're distinct.- Vic2010
