Tagging--A New Forum Feature

We have a couple new features on CRF. You will see these in your profile, below your screen name on posts, and as notices when you log in.

1) Tagging - this allows you to alert other members to check out a thread. When you click on a thread, you will see "user tag list" at the top of the page. Type in the members name, and they will receive notice to check out that thread.

2) Mentions - this allows you to call someone's attention to a post. Typing @username (replace username with the full screen name) ie, @Jake T or @Musikwala or @Hydrazoic Acid or @Jet notifies them of the post plus it becomes a link to their profile.

3) Quote Notification- if a member quotes you in a post, you will receive notification that you've been quoted.

4) stastics - if you click on quick links you will see at the bottom of that menu "user tagging statistics. The program will keep track of top members who are tagged, mentioned, and quoted.




I forgot to mention, there are tabs in your profile for Mentions, Tags, Quotes. * You can "click" on those entries to take you to the mentioned post, tagged thread, or quoted post.

I have now disabled all the email notifications associated with this new feature. If you still receive emails alerting you to tags, quotes, or mentions, please let me know.

I forgot to mention, there are tabs in your profile for Mentions, Tags, Quotes. You can "click" on those entries to take you to the mentioned post, tagged thread, or quoted post.

Going to be a little hard for some of the folks with long usernames many of us use nicknames or initials instead of typing out the full name. Most people call me LG now which is understandable. But the feature should allow people to catch all the comments directed at them which is the important thing.

I'm confused. I'm sure I'll get this after I watch for a while...I hope. I learn better by example than by written directions. I think it is because I have dyscalculia and have a form of dyslexia. We're all going to learn how to spell user names correctly.
