Dead Moon's cover of Hey Joe is brilliant. Unfortunately I can't find a video so you'll just have to take my word:)
It's on their first album "In The Graveyard"

Wilson Pickett's version of The Beatles 'Hey Jude' is awesome with Duanne Allman on Guitar.

I love his version of The Supremes 'You Keep Me Hangin' On' as well. Vanilla Fudge did a psychedelic version which Wilson developed his version from. I love all three versions but the Wilson Pickett version is the best, I think.

I could not find Wilson Pickett's version on You Tube but posted the Vanilla Fudge version instead (Just for the dancing girls..............lol)

Right behind you!
Zeppelin's "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You," originally by Joan Baez =)
I thought the original was sung by some other woman in the 1940s? I could be wrong, but I thought that's what it was. According to the writing credits in my Led Zeppelin I booklet, it says "Anne Bredon". ???

Ah, Wilson Pickett's "Hey Jude" is fantastic.

Speaking of Beatles covers, what about "With A Little Help From My Friends" by Joe Cocker? Fantastic cover!

Man I love that cover! Better than the original imo!

There are SO many great cover songs out there. Unfortunately, there are a LOT more that aren't so good (but we won't mention those). Man, where to begin....

Stevie Ray Vaughan - Little Wing
. To me, SRV took this song and made it his own. That's NO slam on Jimi, but what SRV was took a great track and put it up on a pedistal by adding in his own flavor without completely changing it as some musicians do. One of my all-time favorite songs and deserves to be at the top of the list for me.

Jimi Hendrix - All Along the Watchtower - what's to say about this track that hasn't already been said by so many over the years. When Bob Dylan says he likes it best, that says a lot (even though I'm not a Dylan fan, I do respect his influence and place in music history) An absolute classic rock cover and one of the best ever.

Some others I really like but don't feel like giving each it's own writeup:

Metallica - Die Die My Darling
Stevie Ray Vaughan - Superstition
Metallica - Stone Cold Crazy
Joe Cocker - The Letter
Joe Cocker - With A Little Help From My Friends
Manfred Mann - Spirits In the Night
Manfred Mann - For You
Manfred Mann - Blinded By the Light
Motley Crue - Helter Skelter
Led Zeppelin - You Shook Me
Van Halen - You Really Got Me
Pat Travers - Born Under A Bad Sign
Eric Clapton - Cocaine
Waylon Jennings - Clyde
Quiet Riot - Cum On Feel the Noize
Bangles - Hazy Shade of Winter
Wilson Pickett - Mustang Sally
CCR - Heard It Through the Grapevine
Aerosmith - Train Kept A Rollin'
Jackson Browne - Load Out / Stay
Billy Idol - Mony Mony
Keel - Because the Night
Santana - She's Not There
Beatles - Twist and Shout

Ok, now I'll admit it's too late to come up with anymore. When I do, I'll post them
