Silence and lights...
Everything is OK peeps. It's odd but that never occurs when I use the pre-amp's own phono stage. That headphone trick Bruce? I think that would work as it disables the speakers when it is plugged in. I usually use the "mute' function. Another strange anomaly is that when the needle drops, I see the "red" overload light on my Parasound amp. It lasts for only a few seconds though.
Ran the studfinder on the wall above my fireplace. Really weird as the studs are off center where I can put on the mounts for the flatscreen. I don't think it would be too much of a hassle. For speakers, I have eight of the Mirage Omnisats:
I plan on mounting these on the ceilings pointing down at the listening area. The dispersion on them with their waveguide design is really good which makes them perfect for surround sound formats. Musically they might not have the muscle on the low end but that is where the subs are for. It will be interesting how they will sound altogether on "all channel stereo" mode. Some listeners are put off by the music coming from all around them and prefer just the front two but I don't mind and kind of like it.
