That almost sounds elitist.
Sorry, but that's what I'm seeing. Maybe you're not understanding. I want the best sound quality I can get, but I'm not going to go slitting my wrists if I can't find. Which is pretty much the point here...that I'm trying to make.

Because I don't take the ins and outs of being an audiophile as much as you do, I shouldt saddle myself with a great system.

And so do I. That's what I've been trying to explain to you. Just so happens I'm in a position where I can spend that much money on my sound. My shouldn't my sound be improtant to me because it's not the same dedication as yours..to the tchnology, I ,ean. I'm not trying to start an arguement//a debate sure, but if we're going to get into a pissing match about it..we just stop..right?

If you are happy with a modest system then spend less and you will still enjoy your music.

I rebuilt my entire analog system last year, for less than 6 grand, including vinyl albums.

I don't care what you spend your money on, but your comments in this thread contradict you without me saying a thing.
The difference between a $1000 system and a $5000 system is greater than the difference between a $5000 and $50000 rig, you spend tons of money for the slightest improvement at that level.
That is all I meant to say, you can get something really nice for a lot less money.
If you've come into millions then buy whatever you want and enjoy it.

To each his own right? I've heard that a few times in my..Lennon saidit..what ever gets you through the night..We're just talking here..right? You express your indignation once ad then you drop it. You tell me why you don't think i should spend that much. I consider it. And I come to the same conclusion as you...then great. You gave me some advice and I followed it. That's what I'm doing with the turntable....That what was I was trying to do now, but I didn't expect your reaction.

You give me good solid argum,ents as to why I shouldn't spewnd so much and I'll consider it. I've always Mcintosh. Now I can have, but if you think it's smarter to go lighter..then tell me why.
I am not trying to argue with you, but I am confused on one hand you say "You don't care about the state of things..." then you are planning to spend big money on a new rig.
If you are spending 50 grand on a stereo then get Pro-Ject's $3500 TT with the Ortofon Cadenza MC cartridge, it's the TT I almost bought last year. For the money it's as good as the $10000 tables out there.
Didn't mean to start anything with you and if you want a beautiful system then I can respect that.
