I've always favoured the By The Way - Stadium Arcadium era. John Frusciante brought a whole new meaning to RHCP. To me, the Hillel/Jack Irons RHCP was a whole different band than what they started evolving into. I adore both of them, but for separate reasons. They went from raw, in-your-face, funky rap flow and gradually blossomed into melodic, sensual, and spiritual. Anthony always threw in some peculiar lyrics though. Can't say what they are now. Can't get a firm grasp with only one album since Klinghoffer joined the gang.

I like their last album but Californication up to Stadium I didn't particularly like. Its good so many others have appreciation for that area but I don't. I do like the last album because it felt like a mix of melody and their funky era.

That's just another thing I like about them. Most of their stuff isn't music for the masses, they dip their toes into every genre and make themselves unclassifiable. Wonder when they'll put out another creation..

I might crank up those albums anyway one day see if I feel differently to the last time. A year or so can definitely make for a change in mind on that sort of thing. Back then I was really really picky and still kinda am but like to diversify a bit too. :)

Moved this thread to the 80's section.

I spend what... 30 minutes searching the Chili's... At a certains time I was wondering if they were so famous as I thought :heheh:

Well... I prefer their starting, so the first album until One Hot Minute. Their baddest album is Stadium Arcadium, but their last album "I'm With You" is a bit better than the 3 last album (Cali/BTW/SA)...
Well, it's subjective, ah ah it's just my point of view!

Its a point of view I share, the 3 before I'm With You were average at best in my experience and opinion. One Hot Minute was great but the albums before it were their great works.

Just out of curiosity, why is the RHCP thread in the 80's forum? Sure they formed in the 80's section? Sure, they formed in the 80's, but they didnt break until the 90's. Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, and Nirvana formed in the 80's too, but they broke in the 90's... same with RHCP... and those other bands are all in the 90's section. o_O
