The Steve Vai era was pretty cool (IMHO). Their stage show was at it's peak and as far as I'm concerned, Coverdale's voice was at his absolute best during this time. The band was tight during that very short time frame.

I always preferred the bluesy 'Snake in the early days (although 1987 was a cracking album).

Saw Bernie Marsden last month, the first half of the gig was acoustic and included 'Til The Day I Die, Trouble and The Time Is Right For Love, the second half was the band (including Phil Spalding on bass, Mark Stanway from Magnum on keys and Jim Kirkpatrick from IQ on guitars - who also played acoustic with Bernie in the first half) and included Come On, Walking In The Shadow of the Blues, Is This Love?, Hit 'n' Run, Would I Lie To You, Fool For Your Loving, Here I Go Again and Ain't No Love (In The Heart of the City), with Robert Hart (ex-Bad Company) on vocals.

Absolutely brilliant gig and brought back many good memories of early 'Snake gigs!

Was this the show you were at? Have to say, sounds pretty great!

The FOOL FOR YOUR LOVING single (in the UK) was probably there finest hour for me although most everyone else will probably say it was there WHITESNAKE 1987 album that was there finest hour and they're probably right but that band was a different annimal, when i think of WHITESNAKE i like to think of the 1980 Coverdale/Moody/Marsden/Murrey/Lord & Paice line up.

It certainly was. Looks like this was filmed from the mixing desk, I was at the back, just to the right of the filming position.

I prefer the first classic version. Steve Vai ruined it later.
