I would say most of those fans felt her voice was not that suited on Dark Passion Play because it had a bit more of the heavier symphonic elements in there. I for one liked that album a lot regardless of the controversy over it. And this album they say is more her range so to speak which is why they probably say she is more at home.
That is merely my take on that matter.

I was very surprised how much I liked Dark Passion Play when it first came out, despite a singer change.

After the movie and everything, I still do not see it to be a bad thing, if they ever re-united with Tarja...even for one album or one tour.

I don't think there would be many dry eyes in the house.

I think it would be good to do a reunion thing with her for the fans too, stop this ridiculous hate on the band.
To see Anette and Tarja share a stage would be something awesome.

That would be awesome! I know Annette has mentioned once on her blog that she's a big fan of Tarja.

Really big fan of Once opener Dark Chest of Wonders. I love how Once has such epic intros to the songs. The intro to Planet Hell is one of the best intros. Love what Finland has produced for metal, makes me proud to be half Finnish.

Yeah Nightwish was the most bombastic band back then, not that they aren't anymore.. but like you've pointed out, the songs had epic intros and there was more complexity. They were more of a Power Metal with symphonic influences type of band and now they're full blown Symphonic. Loved Dark Passion Play and Imaginaerum is a masterpiece
