I reckon I will crank up Imaginaerum again tonight. Man that album gets better and better. Its just perfection.

The complex orchestration of the keyboards is gone and instead it's just more of an atmosphere instrument. The aggressive speed is gone and the guitar work is buried in the background..to say nothing of the fact the vocals are nothing near as epic or powerful. I had hopes for this new release but I have to say I miss the old Nightwish.

Those are good points. They seem to be a bit more straight forward then they used to be. Not every song was high speed back in the day, but on the other hand, they always had the mid tempo, slower numbers and ballads all the way through.

I still think it's a great album, and IMO, alot better than some stuff that tries to pass itself off as metal.

It's hooky, heavy, freaky, fun. That's not to take away any great memories that I have when Tarja was in the band.

I miss those days more so when I play one of those titles.
