Sammy hasn't actually listened to the album??? Personally I make sure I listen to an album in question before I seriously go mouthing off about it!
Ok, this was weird but I was at Whole Foods a couple weeks ago (only go once in a long while to check out certain things ... the only one in my general area is near where I work) and they actually had the ADKOT CD in the checkout line!

I hadn't been planning on buying the album and I was sort of tempted ... of course I get it that the checkout line is where they put impulse items but somehow I couldn't make that connection between ADKOT and Whole Foods!

Anyway I didn't buy it that day though I could have ... who knows, maybe one of these days.
I've mostly kept kind of quiet about Van Halen w/DLR because honestly back in the day when that first album came out (I even had the record for a time but sold it to a friend of a B/F I was seeing at the time) VH for me became one of those bands that "everyone else" seemed to be into and I didn't get the fascination. The other problem was I heard that album and the songs on it PLAYED TO DEATH - EVERYWHERE!!! I almost quite literally got sick of DLR VH. No slam intended against anybody into it then or now ...
When I heard Sammy was replacing DLR I became very interested. I thought, cool, I like Sammy and he can sing and play guitar and write songs - he'll bring a whole new dimension to VH and IMO to my ears he did. I bought the cassette (so I could listen to it driving around too) of 5150 and and really liked the album ... I played the heck out of that cassette ... still have it and have 5150 on vinyl now too (thrift shop special) but haven't listened to the album in awhile. I liked OU812 as well ... I did get For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge (all cassettes) but don't remember listening to it all that much ...
