I agree, Astrid. Whitney made some horrible choices in her life.


I was reading some stuff about her and her daughter's relationship, and from what I gather her daughter was not only Whitney's support, but also an enabler. She partied with her mom, yanno.


I am pretty sure Whitney had put the addiction to Cocaine behind her, but she had turned to other addictions. Xanax, Valium, Ativan, sleeping pills, alcohol, and various other anti-depressants. These are all physically, psychologically, and emotionally addicting drugs.


I will await the results of the toxicology, but it wouldn't suprise me if she didn't have a deadly coctail

Yes , I read this too re: enabler..it's what happens when your raising kids and your a stoner..I think of Francis Bean Cobain ..she lived this too with Kurt and Courtney Love..messed up upbringing..really sad

I mean I look at fathers like Gene Simmons ,who might be EGOmaniac but he raised kids w/o drugs..it can be done

IMO, If Whitney Houston never met Bobby Brown, she's probably would be alive today.

Whitney Houston was on the straight and narrow till she hooked up with Bobby Brown, the peice of shit, that he is.

Bobby Brown turned her on to the dark side...

but, I also agree with Magic....it was her own choice.

Also, if Whitney Houston kept on singing gospel music....she probably would be alive today. She was a good girl till she hung out with the wrong crowd.

I'm not a fan of her style of music, but I acknowledge her talent. And these are just my opinions.

I've read reports both in recent days as well as over the years that Whitney was "battling" drug issues her entire career. I don't know when she actually started, but her first album came out in Feb 1985. She didn't even meet Bobby Brown until a few years later. If she's been doing 'stuff' her entire career, then you cant blame Bobby. Perhaps it was nothing more than two people who both enjoyed 'partying' that went into great excess when they were doing it together. Only Bobby and Whitney know the real truth on this.



It's always easy for everyone to blame Bobby Brown for her poor choices and I am certainly not sticking up for Bobby Brown, but c'mon. She was a grown woman making her own choices (for better or for worse) and I really dont believe that Bobby or anyone before strapped her to the floor and forced her to do drugs. people really need to quit blaming everyone else for a star's downfall.

That's the first thing I said on day one. My thoughts are a deadly and heavy mixture of antidepresants + booze. *shrug*

It seems that Whitney's choice in men was bad, to say the least. Putting Bobby Brown (way) aside, her boyfriend at the time of her passing was Ray J. For those not familiar with the name, he is singer/actress Brandy's brother and a rapper of some note. He's most famous for being Kim Kardashian's co-star in her sex video. With all due respect, boy, Whitney sure could pick 'em.

Edit: Actually, this week, I read some friends and family members said she didn't do drugs, until she got involved with Boby Brown - whether that's true? - we don't know - but, I bet she didn't do drugs until she got involved with that loser.

No, I'm not. But I'm not going to blame HIM for what his adult GF, then Wife did of her own free will. My point is that I'm sick and tired of people making excuses for certain celebs and not holding them accountable for their actions. This happens all the time with musicians, actors, politicians, other public/popular figures in pop-culture.

And for the record, my response may have quoted you specifically (since you were the one that said it), but my opinion is a general one, generically aimed at anyone that thinks it's all Bobby's fault.

Well, I'm just going by what I read. Whitney wasn't doing drugs before Bobby Brown from what friends and relatives say - and I personally believe it. And if you don't, so be it.

And again, you missed where I said in my original post ''it was her own choice'' to get involved with drugs and Bobby Brown...
