And after the Walker Brothers broke up (which I'm not quite sure why), Scott Walker did some very highly regarded albums I believe. I only have his first album - Scott, which has that same theme which The Walker Brother had, perhaps a bit slicker though.

Take it Easy With The Walker Brothers has some great tracks on it though including Make It Easy On Yourself, and some of the bonus tracks I have with that album like Love Her and I Need You I also enjoy! :D

my guess would be the usual-
signed with a big predatory label - got 2 smash hits and the execs started howling for more - had them do every piece of crap song some veep liked...
the guys got tired of being dragged into a studio to do hogcrap like the Nebraska Hogtacklers Song and rebelled - most likely
the old record industry was hell on wheels and the new one has execs who will rip the bones from your back to get another hit as well
they had voices of angels but were the last of the 50s era crossovers

That's only if you haven't heard the Righteous Brothers earlier stuff on Moonglow. Check out their versions of "Justine" "Koko Joe", etc.

I actually should have included Blood, Sweat & Tears. I've never liked that particular band or the singer David Clayton Thomas.
