You realize you can vote how you see fit. If enough voters feel the same way then you don't need to worry about it, and our Hall of Fame will be a new and improved version. Personally, I am not embarrassed by Prince or Michael Jackson in the Hall of Fame. Rock certainly developed from mixtures of country, jazz, and soul, so who's to say?

:cheers2

The point is this...

If You induct Madonna , Prince or Michael Jackson into your own Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame????-- what the difference between yours and the real RRHOF - :wtf:...that most people think is a joke?

:lmao:

And yeah,no kidding rock music was influenced by country, jazz, and soul, etc

Everyone knows that... not a news flash there...

but Madonna, Prince or Michael Jackson didn't influence rock music...

and they aren't ''rock'' artist and don't belong in any ''ROCK'' Hall of fame.

I know a lot of people have a problem wrapping their brain around that.
:heheh:

BTW, your real name wouldn't be Jann Wenner? :heheh:

I completely understand your point. It is not really a hard point to understand anyway. This is not "my" Hall of Fame, but it will be our Hall as in this message board. If a majority wants Cher, Barbara Streisand, The Carpenters, and Lionel Richie then they will get in. I have a hunch that won't be the case. Madonna and Michael Jackson are at the least debateable. They aren't "hard rock" but does that mean they aren't "rock"? Is Stevie Wonder acceptable? The Eagles? For that matter Bob Dylan doesn't exactly rock out all that often. As for Prince, I don't get the disdain there. I think he rocks plenty hard. The direction this Hall takes will depend on the voters, plainly and simply.

Groovy, unlike the real RRHOF this one lets people vote and have a say in the matter. It's just a fun little game, and there's a ton of variety in the choices to appeal to everyone. :)

To be fair I really don't like the way people cast their votes. Looks very chaotic to me.

You just choose from the list, like we do in regular polls but without the poll on top. I'm not getting why so many are getting worked up over a game. :bonk:

So many evident reasons in this thread are reasons why I didn't even bother voting. The fact that people are taking this so seriously when it isn't even going to become a real Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is beyond me. Just have some fun. People will vote for what they like. It's their choice.

Sure it's for fun, I understand.

It's just, if you're calling it a ''rock'' hall of fame...

then keep it as rock...

If you wanna call it a ''pop hall of fame''...then include Cher, Barbara Streisand, The Carpenters, and Lionel Richie , Madonna, Prince and Micheal Jackson.

I mean would Led Zeppelin be in the Motown Hall of Fame?

No.

Would The Beatles be in a Disco Hall of Fame?

No.

That would be silly.

Silly as Madonna, Prince and Micheal Jackson being in a Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame.

BTW, I've had this opinion for years, so don't take it personal.

The list is basically taken directly from RNRHOF, which we might get to the point that we can't vote for KISS, Deep Purple or Rory Gallagher for example. Don't know, maybe it will happen, but the game won't last for long.

I get your point Groovy. I wasn't trying to lessen that in any way. I'm only speaking in terms of what people vote for. People'll just vote for what they like. And like any Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, there will be agreements and disagreements. Though, keeping it strictly rock would be a good idea, however if people vote otherwise, it's no biggie either. All good fun.
