JULIAN LENNON UPSET WITH RECENT SNUBS
THIS NEWS BROUGHT TO YOU BY VH1’S DAVE BASNER

Julian Lennon, John Lennon’s son with his first wife, Cynthia, is upset with Paul McCartney because he feels he’s been snubbed when it comes to several recent Beatles events, including Paul’s New York City wedding reception a couple weeks ago. The 48-year-old Julian went on a rant on his Facebook page, noting that he was snubbed at the wedding and its New York counterpart, the anniversary of Vegas’ LOVE production and the premiere of the George Harrison documentary. He demanded to know the truth to why, writing, “I & My Mother will not be eradicated from history… how dare they?” Sources explain that he wasn’t invited to the New York party because organizers thought he was in Italy. I've always liked Julian - but he bitches too much....

Although, sometimes he makes good points...

maybe he should keep his thoughts to himself.

No one likes a whiner.

I feel sorry for Julian - he should be invited to more official Beatles oriented events.

And maybe Paul wanted to invite Julian to his wedding? - but didn't want to hear whining on his happy day.

With all due respect to Sir Paul,

Bull ! I am aware that Paul did NOT invite Julian or Cynthia to either wedding..they were NOT even sent an invitation ! In good taste, and with long time friendship ,you would send an invite and let THEM decide if they will attend or decline ?

That being said Julian is NOT whining. It is very typical of Paul to think of himself and his intentions were prob not meant to hurt anyone but..it's that both Julian and Cynthia were deeply hurt by not even being invited ? I am on his fb page and I can assure you he is NOT whining..he was angry and hurt that between the Macca wedding and the premier of The George Harrison doco , that people have forgot them.

Julian is a wonderful musician and humanitarian . Involved in many world charity events and should be respected for surviving the ignorance of Beatles fans and the exclusions he has suffered for 48 years. Starting with Brian Epstein hiding his very birth from the public..right down the line !

Nobody wants to believe that Paul would purposely neglect Julian or Cynthia , and I don't believe he did in this case..niether does Julian. He was just hurt..and protecting his mum...he's over it now

and I believe that the media is just chewing on this fat to fill headlines..

Uncle Macca and The Lennons are prefectly ok with each other..

it was a mistake..thats all

Astrid...this is only a guess - we're no experts here...

Here's my take...

Paul knew the media was going to be around his wedding - Paul's well aware Julian likes to bitch n' moan to the media about his personal life and problems (some legit and some over dramatized) - he's been doing this for years now - everyone knows this.

Again, I like Julian - as a person and a musician. I own some of his music - I really enjoy his first 2 albums, the most.

Anyway, a lot of people have problems in the world today - all over the word - hardship...but, I'm sure Julian is doing fine financially - compared to unemployed people all over the world. So, stop the public whining - we all have problems...

Time for Julian to man up.

it's way over due....

Yeah, your father was a f**k-up as a Dad...but, you shouldn't dwell on it...

He should take his Dads advice and let it go...

''I just had to let it go''

or it will eat you alive...

sometimes, that's all you can do....

let things go and move on...

Good advice, of letting things go, in this song, from his Dad.

No ,I i SEE his posts daily on Fb and he's never bitched other then THAT rant ?

What are you talking about anyways in regards to maning up ?

He actual rarely complains about his dad / I'm missing where you see him doing this ?

He pretty much never talks about John these days..I believe he HAS moved on with his life ?

It's just go watch any videos with interviews and someone almost ALWAY asked him a question about John The Beatles or Yoko..I mean in my opinion, it's fans who won't let it go ?

Just the other day someone posted that he should do A SONG with McCartney ? Why ? Because people want a Beatles moment ? Stupid ..why not suggest one with Neil Young or Eric Clapton ? Well they are classic rockers too..oh but Paul was a Beatle and Julian is..a Beatles kid who looks and sounds like his father ? it's really sick ..

I'm just saying ,that Julian HAS moved on but now and again the fact of who he is/who his father is..gets in his face..and yet..those who care about him or once did ignore his part of the legacy..and I feel he has the right to be hurt..

Paul is no saint and he f's up like anybody else..he f'd up and should (and has) apologize for excluding them..instead putting up some lame excuse..

but as I stated above,,,Julian is over it now..that rant is almost a month old ..and everyone needs to get over it..

Well, I think Julian should just accept that the first wives and kids are going to be ignored to a point. Look at Pattie Harrison. With all the stuff going on in regards to the George Harrison documentary, where's Patti? Was she invited to the screenings and the parties, has she been out there promoting the film? The answer is no. I have the book that was released in conjunction with the film, a book written by Olivia Harrison. Patti barely gets a mention. This a woman who was with George during the craziest part of his life. She was there during the world wide mania, she shared his first LSD trip with him (and John and Cynthia), she was the one who introduced him to the Eastern religion that would change and guide his life to his dying day. She did all that and barely gets a mention in the book of her (ex-) husband's life. From what I understand, she gets the same treatment in the movie. At this point in time, it's Paul, Ringo, Yoko and Olivia who represent the Beatles to the world, especially in regards to their business dealings. I understand that it's not fair to certain people but I hope Julian can just accept the reality of it and move on with his life.

Good Points, I suppose. Although I know Patti is very involved with several charities with all the wives and especially Olivia, Barbra Bach and several of Pauls' kids like designer Stella McCartney..so thats even more curious ?

It's a given that they will loose somethings along the way and feelings will be hurt. I don't think Paul purposely excluded them..I know he loves Julian (Hey Jude anyone ????) He was very helpful and supportive of Julian'S sobriety in the past for example . I think what happen was accidental and from reading several of Julians' post on his sites..he realizes it too..he REALLY is over it ?

He was hurt for not being invited ..and I think more for his mum who is not doing very well healthwise and would have have loved to be involved with things . ..Weddings ..Premiers..

My issue with this is the typical knee-jerk reaction of people not wanting to think Paul McCartney is ever a jerk or selfish. He's not a saint? He a man. There are plenty of people who know this ALL to well..Pete Best..Denny Laine ..theres a LONG list lol

I LOVE Paul ,trust me I do, but he's a human being..he fails like ALL of us....and I just feel he should have had better manners in the situation ? Not the end of the world..

Paul has apologized and they truly are ok..

The Media is looking to sell papers..

^ Well, don't blame the media, when Julian publicly whines of his Face Book page.

And no said Paul was a saint, none of The Beatles were....but, Astrid you're acting like Julian is saintly, and has done no wrong.

Anyone who vents or whines openly to strangers on the internet - opens themselves to scrutiny.

Well I agree about the internet , theres alot of nutters out there :D

But I don't think Julians a saint..he complained about something that hurt his feeling and disrespected his mom...I can't say I wouldn't do that ? I see 'whining' everyday on the internet ..and why can't Julian do it ? And as i REPEATLY said..he complained once about it THE DAY of..and thats it ?

so , yeah if you put it in public people will make of it what you will..thats the chance you take..

I reference to The Media is that several music magazines posted things about Pauls wedding and several 'where was Julian & Cynthia's invite' etc came from fans..
they posted the celebs that DID attend..movie stars..personalities, etc that hardly know them..just to be 'seen' people ..and people that actual know Paul /lived life with him like The Lennons didn't get invited..it kinda crappy. I mean Steve Buscemi was invited / WTF why ? Did I miss a connection to The McCartney ?

I'm just saying yes your right about opening personal rants on social media sites ..but it was somewhat effective..in that it brought awareness to what a showboat that wedding was..the first one at the CourtHouse in the U.k. was just family ..close friends..thats perhaps where The Lennons should have been ..thats what they are..
