Re: Free

Superb band. May have been pushed to hard at the beginning of their career by their management which, some might argue, led them to have the problems that they encountered later.

Anyway, here are a few scans of some early UK 7" singles.

Re: Free

Sox, I had to bump this thread up as Free is one the best British blues rock bands IMO. Just wanted to throw down a couple of tracks.

"I'll Be Creepin" from thier thier s/t second album is my fav.

Also "Molten Gold" from Paul Kossoff's solo album 'Back Street Crawler'(1973) featuring Paul Rodgers on vocals is a gem.

Re: Free

^^Great tracks Joe from two top albums, I always wonder how far this band would have gone if things had been different for them and personalities more stable. Here they are delivering at the Isle Of White .. Brilliant.

Re: Free

From the last studio album there's a feel in the song that's creeping towards the Bad Co sound I reckon.

Despite the fact that it's really the sound of band coming apart at the seams, Heartbreaker is really quite a brilliant album. Bundrick's great keyboards really add an extra dimension, I find. Sad about Koss though, another great talent lost too soon :[

Re: Free

^^ That's true I think it's a shame, Free are up there with the very best. Koss could play killer guitar and Paul Rodgers has one of the best voices out there plus a rock solid rhythm section .. personalities I guess, if only ???

Re: Free

I think Free are a band that gained respect from their peers as well as the fans and the music they created seems timeless to me.
