Re: The Official Eric Clapton Thread

Fine thread. My fav of Eric is Little Wing from the Layla album, which was put on as a tribute to Jimi H. If you're a guitar player, you get to wondering, 'Sh*t, how many frets has this guy got on his fretboard?'

Re: The Official Eric Clapton Thread

^It was one of the first songs I had heard from him. All the others posted are amazing as well. Blow Wind Blow is an absolutely fantastic song. It even starts off strong.

"When the sun rose this morning,
I didn't have my baby by my side.
When the sun rose this morning,
I didn't have my baby by my side.
I don't know where she was,
I know she's out with some another guy."

BELL BOTTOM BLUES :grinthumb

Eric Clapton...

Lets see ermm..YEAH :grinthumb

One of my favorite guitarist of ALL time and he's right in the top 5 surrounded by his bff George Harrison
and Jimi Hendrix ...amazing Musician. Songwriter ....

His passionate style is what seperates him from the usual slingers
he plays with percision ,passion and it makes beautiful beautiful music,,

I like the album August produced by Phil Collins..its not one of his better loved but I like it all the same

:grinthumb

it features hits used in the motion picture The Color Of Money
and it's just a very fun piece not so serious as his earlier things which I'm sure will always be masterpieces..

so I like to give the underdawg albums love :grinthumb

Re: The Official Eric Clapton Thread

Anyone heard his latest album, Clapton

It's quite a difference from his other releases recently. I see it as similar to From the Cradle in that it's displaying some of the songs that influenced Eric to play.

Musicians on the album include J.J. Cale, Allen Toussaint, Jim Keltner, Derek Trucks, Doyle Bramhall II and Abe Laboriel Jr among others
